August 17 Farm Day Retreat: Goddess in the Garden

Join us for our third Farm Day Retreat of the year - Goddess in the Garden - a day of honoring you and your inner Goddess.

FARM TOUR: We’ll begin the day with a farm tour, lead by Michele, where you’ll explore the farm and meet the resident animals.

YOGA: Melissa Anne will guide us in gentle, purposeful yoga movements and balance poses to help you access your beautiful inner Goddess. This yoga practice is suitable for all levels, with modifications provided for beginners and variations for experienced practitioners.

FRESH FLOWER CROWNS: Hannah, from The Perennial Cottage Gardener, will lead us in making fresh flower crowns for you take home as a reminder of your strength and beauty. Hannah will also share how to best preserve your flower crown. All materials are provided.

PLEASE BRING:

  • a picnic lunch

  • yoga mat and props you might need (blocks, blankets, etc.)

  • your beautiful smile

  • FARM TOUR w/Michele: We’ll start the day with introductions and a walk around the farm guided by Michele. The garden is full this time of year and we’ll be able to sample the bounty of the harvest. Michele will also show you the animal residents and answer any questions you might have about the space. Be on the lookout for your favorite spot on this tour and enjoy some quiet time later in the day to journal or just be. 

    YOGA w/Melissa Anne: This experience invites you to honor the divine feminine within and around you, encompassing qualities such as nurturing, intuition, creativity and compassion. This yoga practice is suitable for all levels, with modifications provided for beginners and variations for experienced practitioners.

    LUNCH: Please bring your own bagged lunch to enjoy.

    MAKE FRESH FLOWER CROWNS w/Hannah: Hannah will take you step-by-step in creating your very own crown of fresh flowers, a reminder of the beautiful Goddess that you are.

  • Melissa Anne spent over 15 years working in Crisis and Disaster Management with a focus on post-trauma response following mass casualty disasters. She stepped away from her career in 2015 after severe burnout and a healing journey led her to explore Mindfulness Meditation, Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) and creative arts. In 2018 just after moving to Bainbridge Island she suffered a traumatic brain injury and found herself on a yoga mat at Dayaalu Center after months of physical and cognitive rehab.

    Melissa Anne is now a certified teacher in Hatha Yoga, Neuroscience and Yoga, Raga Yoga and Yoga Nidra. She continues to take classes and teaches Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra and Pranayama classes at Dayaalu Center and online.

    Melissa Anne is also a Fine Art Photographer with a unique style and loves to spend time tending the land, cultivating and harvesting crops and communing with animals, birds and plants. Her ideal day begins with her camera and a sunrise beach, mantra and hatha, opportunities to place seeds or plants in the earth, spending time with friends in community and conversation and ending the day with the sweet peace of a Yoga Nidra.

  • Hannah lives with her family at their farm, Maple Lane Farmstead. When she’s not chasing her toddlers around, she’s planting, weeding, and harvesting flowers for her flower & bouquet business. After dreaming of being a farmer for years, she’s grateful for the opportunity to grow in her hometown of Silverdale. In addition to farming, Hannah also leads Gardening Workshops and has created resources for the home gardener to simplify & decrease overwhelm without compromising beauty and abundance.

  • Michele Muffoletto is the owner of The Wanderers' Nest Therapeutic Farm. In addition to Farm Day Retreats and Workshops, Michele also facilitates Individual Therapeutic Sessions with clients of all ages and backgrounds. As an educator and certified facilitator in animal-assisted interventions, Michele brings a unique approach to client sessions.

    People reach out to Michele for a variety of reasons and support:

    • understanding their anxiety & management

    • boundary setting

    • improving communication

    • building confidence

    • connecting with the self and others

    • grief and loss

    • establishing a gratitude and/or mindfulness practice

    • a moment of self-care

    With Michele, you’ll take a few sessions to explore together... maybe pet some goats, hug a dog, plant tomatoes, or just sit by the pond, soak up the sun, and talk. The goal is to support each client individually, which means no two sessions are ever the same. It’s whatever your heart needs that day.

  • We do not offer refunds, however, you are welcome to gift your event ticket to a friend or family member.
