She stepped away from her career in 2015 after severe burnout and a healing journey led her to explore Mindfulness Meditation, Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) and creative arts. In 2018 just after moving to Bainbridge Island she suffered a traumatic brain injury and found herself on a yoga mat at Dayaalu Center after months of physical and cognitive rehab.

Melissa Anne is now a certified teacher in Hatha Yoga, Neuroscience and Yoga, Raga Yoga and Yoga Nidra. She continues to take classes and teaches Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra and Pranayama classes at Dayaalu Center and online.

Melissa Anne is also a Fine Art Photographer with a unique style and loves to spend time tending the land, cultivating and harvesting crops and communing with animals, birds and plants. Her ideal day begins with her camera and a sunrise beach, mantra and hatha, opportunities to place seeds or plants in the earth, spending time with friends in community and conversation and ending the day with the sweet peace of a Yoga Nidra.

  • Hello, my name is Alicia (She/Her). I've been gardening for three years and providing flowers for my community and farmers markets for two years. My journey to farming started when I moved up here from San Diego to take care of my grandpa. He used to grow and sell eggs, fruits, veggies, and jams at the Bainbridge Farmers Market—actually one of the first people to get it started. I had the idea of doing something together to get him back at markets. I’ve always had a love for medicinal plants and spent time at my friend’s floral shop in San Diego. After watching a documentary on a flower farmer in Skagit Valley, I quickly signed up for her course and learned how to start flower farming. Since then, I've traveled to a sustainable floristry and farming conference, taken multiple floristry workshops, and learned from my community of farmers. I now share that knowledge with my community through workshops and farmers markets, and I offer floristry services for weddings, events, styled shoots, pop ups, and more.
