Melissa Anne spent over 15 years working in Crisis and Disaster Management with a focus on post-trauma response following mass casualty disasters. She stepped away from her career in 2015 after severe burnout and a healing journey led her to explore Mindfulness Meditation, Trauma Release Exercises (TRE) and creative arts. In 2018 just after moving to Bainbridge Island she suffered a traumatic brain injury and found herself on a yoga mat at Dayaalu Center after months of physical and cognitive rehab.
Melissa Anne is now a certified teacher in Hatha Yoga, Neuroscience and Yoga, Raga Yoga and Yoga Nidra. She continues to take classes and teaches Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra and Pranayama classes at Dayaalu Center and online.
Melissa Anne is also a Fine Art Photographer with a unique style and loves to spend time tending the land, cultivating and harvesting crops and communing with animals, birds and plants. Her ideal day begins with her camera and a sunrise beach, mantra and hatha, opportunities to place seeds or plants in the earth, spending time with friends in community and conversation and ending the day with the sweet peace of a Yoga Nidra.

Graystone Farm is a specialty-cut flower farm, nestled on over 2 acres near Washington's breathtaking Olympic National Park. Established in 2017 by Sonya Lynn and Ali Harrington, we're a wife-and-wife team dedicated to cultivating sustainable, organically grown, flowers for our community. On lands with a history steeped in the heritage of the Lower Elwah Klallam, Jamestown S’Klallam, we acknowledge and honor their enduring connection to this land. We strive to emulate their respect for nature as we cultivate our farm, dedicated to treading lightly on this sacred ground.
Ali assumes a pivotal role in shaping the farm's infrastructure, overseeing its holistic health and welfare, and has a particular fondness for dahlias. Beyond farm development, Ali’s craftsmanship flourishes in the creation of bespoke furniture within their woodshop, crafted from reclaimed and sustainable materials.
Sonya nurtures the farm's journey from seed to bouquet and is ridiculously in love with echinacea. Her care extends beyond the farm, advocating for equitable practices within the floral industry and championing social and environmental causes. Sonya is also a wedding officiant.
Together, our dedication extends to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community who share a love of flowers. We're incredibly grateful for your support of the local slow flower movement and our farm.
